A man has died at a London gay sauna.
Police have released details over the death of a man who visited the Chariots sauna in Waterloo in the early hours of Saturday morning (20 June).
In a statement to GSN, a Metropolitan Police spokesperson said police were called at around 8.15am to reports of a deceased male at a health club in Lower Marsh, SE1.
‘Officers attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Next of kin have been informed,’ they said.
‘The death being treated as non-suspicious and a post mortem examination will take place in due course.
‘The coroner has been informed.’
While it has not been confirmed by the coroner, reports suggest the death was drug-related.
Chariots Waterloo, which describes itself as UK’s ‘best sauna for gay and bisexual men’, has a drug and smoke free policy and is open 24 hours a day.
The venue reopened later that day on 20 June after police finished their investigation.
