A new trailer for a sequel to classic film Mary Poppins aired at the 90th Academy Awards in Los Angeles.
There was plenty of talking points from this year’s Oscars ceremony on Sunday (4 March).
But a surprise trailer that aired during a break in the ceremony provided one of the talking points of the evening.
The new film, Mary Poppins Returns, follows on from the classic 1964 Disney movie – stars Emily Blunt as the quintessential British nanny.

The long-awaited sequel will also feature grown-up versions of Jane and Michael Banks, the children that Mary looked after in the original film.
Emily Mortimer and Ben Whishaww will play the children, while Poppins legend Dick Van Dyke will play Mr. Dawes Junior.

Meanwhile, after the advert aired at The Oscars, fans took to social media to share their excitement – and skepticism – of bringing a sequel to the much-loved story.
The new film will follow on from the original story, rather than rebooting it.
I actually didn't see it til I was an adult. But fell in love with it and watched so often. This new one looks enchanting in its own way.

The #MaryPoppinsReturns trailer looks awful. Sry but you can't top or recreate something that was already practically perfect in every way.
