Matt Bomer lands new film role opposite Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe

Matt Bomer’s feature film career is beginning to gain some serious momentum.

The openly gay actor with the leading man looks has been cast in the action-drama The Nice Guys with Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe, according to Deadline Hollywood.

The film, scheduled to be a summer 2016 release, is set in the 1970s and takes place in 1970s Los Angeles.

It casts Gosling plays a detective hired by a gangster played by Crowe to find a missing girl. A dangerous conspiracy is uncovered in the process which somehow involves Bomer’s character.

The busy Bomer is currently shooting the film Magic Mike XXL which is the sequel to the 2012 box office hit Magic Mike in which he also appeared.

In addition, Bomer was one of the stars of the recent limited release Space Station 76 and is attached to play Montgomery Clift in an upcoming feature film.

All of this big screen activity is happening as Bomer’s hit television series, White Collar, is about to enter its sixth and final season. The USA Network show will have a six episode finale beginning in November.

Bomer earned an Emmy nomination earlier this year for his portrayal of a man dying of AIDS in the HBO film The Normal Heart.
