Meet the new cast of Netflix’s Queer Eye for the Straight Guy

Queer Eye for the Straight Guy is getting a Netflix series

The cast of Netflix’s Queer Eye for the Straight Guy has finally been revealed.

Don’t remember the original? Back in 2003, the Emmy award-winning show saw the ‘fab five’ gave makeovers to straight men.

It launched the careers of Carson Kressley, now a judge on Drag Race, Ted Allen, the host of Chopped, Jai Rodriguez, now an actor, Kyan Douglas, on Ten Years Younger, and Thom Felicia, who continues to be a successful interior designer.

How is the new Queer Eye for the Straight Guy different?

With it now on Netflix instead of Bravo, it will allow the new fab five to spend more time with their makeover candidates.

Series creator David Collins said he thinks it will find a new audience as ‘millennials’ haven’t heard of it.

‘It’s one of those things that for me is really simple: It’s a really great show, and it’s a new time with a new audience,’ he told Entertainment Weekly.

‘The millennials don’t remember the old show. It’s got such a great heart and soul and humor to it, so I’m excited for a new audience.

‘But I guess if there was something to be real specific, if the original round was about tolerance, this time it is about acceptance.

‘If the original round was about tolerance, this time it is about acceptance.’

‘We ultimately realized that there was a great opportunity for the Fab 5 to grow and be much more open about their personal lives.

‘If you think about the original five, we definitely weren’t going to be talking about that Tan is married to a Mormon cowboy, let alone that he’s Muslim.’

These issues apparently include religion, homophobia and racial-based police brutality.

Queer Eye for the Straight Guy on Netflix will be released in February.
