Monét X Change

Drag Race queen Monét X Change has come under fire for blowing off a gig last minute to jet off to Los Angeles for a very exciting project.

Yesterday (1 March), entertainment and events company Murray and Peter Present posted about the controversy on their Instagram page.

‘BREAKING NEWS,’ they wrote. Yesterday, [Monét X Change] arrived in Denver to appear on our show.

They continued: ‘Sometime during the afternoon, we’re told she received a phone call from [Madonna] with an offer to be in an upcoming music video.

Monét asked MP if it would be ok to leave the tour to accept the offer. We said no because it was too short notice to replace her on [the] Haters [Roast tour].

‘Just hours before the show was to start and without telling anyone – including the other queens on the Denver show – Monét left the venue and flew to LA to accept Madonna’s offer.

‘Therefore, we have decided that Monet will no longer be on any upcoming Haters Roast dates,’ they wrote.

That’s right – Monét X Change will be appearing in a music video for Madonna.

Murray and Peter Present then turned off the comments to the Instagram post.

Monét X Change responds

About an hour after Murray and Peter Present posted to Instagram, Monét X Change posted on Twitter.

‘The queens think you’re trash, the fans think you’re trash, and at this point… your reputation precedes ANYTHING I could ever say,’ she tweeted. ‘May the Lord be with you.’

She then added: ‘Also, in my post Drag Race career, I have only had to reschedule 5 dates, and they were all due to All Stars filming obligations. I LOVE my fans/supporters and try to honor you guys as best as I can.’

Then around six hours later, she tweeted: ‘I wish M&P left the comments on, on their petty ass post say (sic) I could say, “Madonna!? Bitch…I’m @Beyonce”

The controversy is causing a stir online, with many people chiming in.

Bianca Del Rio tweeted: ‘The bigger question is… why would Madonna hire Monét X Change?’

Gay Star News approached Murray and Peter Present for comment.
