NBA launches new Pride tees with every team’s logo in rainbow colors

NBA

The NBA has released a new line of specially designed T-shirts to celebrate Pride Month with the rest of the LGBTQ community.

The T-shirts feature each of NBA’s 30 teams’ logo in rainbow colors and are only exclusively on Teespring at $24.95 a piece.

All proceeds from the sales of these shirts will go to the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network aka GLSEN, a U.S. organization focused on combating harassment and bullying based on sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression among students in schools.

‘Professional sports showing up for LGBT people is one of the biggest cultural developments of the last decade, and really the last five years,’ GLSEN executive director Eliza Byard told Outsports.

She adds: ‘The NBA has been showing up for LGBT youth and for GLSEN for a number of years. Having this be a league-wide initiative, knowing any LGBT fan in the country can choose to celebrate their team and themselves with one of those shirts, that’s a whole new thing.’
