New York county reveals ‘gay cure’ ban bill named Prevention of Emotional Neglect and Childhood Endangerment (PENCE)

Indiana Governor Mike Pence

A New York country has unveiled a new bill to ban dangerous ‘gay cure’ therapy, and it has quite possibly the most perfect name for a law ever.

Erie County legislator Patrick Burke introduced the bill, named Prevention of Emotional Neglect and Childhood Endangerment.

While not commented on by Burke, many cannot help but notice it has the acronym ‘PENCE’.

The next vice president Mike Pence has supported diverting funds for HIV prevention to ‘conversion therapy’, a dangerous and harmful practice that has been condemned by every mainstream health group in the world.

‘The overwhelming evidence says that inflicting this phony therapy on children and adolescents isn’t just medically ineffective, but it is detrimental to a child’s wellbeing,’ said Burke, according to WKBW.

‘It is time to call this practice what it is, abuse. Kids are exceptionally effectible, and the last thing an LGBTQ+ child needs is to be told that the way they were born is wrong and must be changed.’

Pence also voted for the Marriage Protection Amendment in 2006, a law that would have stopped marriage equality nationwide. He said being gay is a ‘choice’ and that preventing gay couples from marrying was not discrimination, but a means of enforcing ‘God’s idea’.

And in 2007, Pence voted against the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, a law to prohibit workplace discrimination based on sexual orientation. He said the law ‘wages war on freedom and religion in the workplace.’
