Nun tells students: ‘Don’t masturbate, it’ll turn you gay’

A nun has caused outrage after telling students to not masturbate or it will turn them gay.

Sister Jane Dominic Laurel, a Dominican nun from Nashville, told Charlotte Catholic High School in North Carolina about her theories on homosexuality.

Among her other ‘theories’, she believes absentee fathers and watching porn turn little boys gay.

‘She gave an example of one of her gay “friends” who said he used to go to a shed with his friends and watch porn and that’s why he was gay,’ one student told qnotes.

‘Then she talked about the statistic where gay men have had either over 500 or 1000 sexual partners.’

Another student added how an abusive Australian gay couple abused their children as a way to tell them LGBTI people are ‘unfit parents’.

In an online petition, which has over 3,000 signatures, students have called on the school to apologize over the speech given on 21 March.

‘We found some of the ideas expressed to be both offensive and unnecessarily derogatory,’ they say.

‘We are incensed that you knew the content of this speech and allowed these ideas to be expressed in a school that should be preaching a message of love and acceptance.’

In the meantime, a second petition has been created in support of Sister Jane Dominic’s message. That petition has approximately just over 1,000 signatures.
