Obama cracks hilarious joke about Indiana pizzeria that refused to cater gay weddings

US President Barack Obama cracked two hilarious gay jokes at the 2015 White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday (25 April) evening.

He opened with a joke at the expense of Vice President Joe Biden but quickly added:

‘I tease Joe sometimes, but he has been at my side for seven years, I love that man.’

‘We’ve gotten so close that some places in Indiana won’t serve us pizza any more,’ he quipped.

The president was referring to Memories Pizza, whose owners said they would never cater a gay wedding after the state passed a law that allowed businesses to discriminate against LGBTI customers on religious grounds.

Obama then turned his sights former on Pennsylvania Sen Rick Santorum, who recently announced that he would not attend a gay wedding if he was invited.

The president said what was on all our minds:

‘Gays and lesbians across the country responded, “That’s not going to be a problem.”‘
