Olivia Colman has described kissing Rachel Weisz in the Oscar-tipped The Favourite as like ‘winning the lottery.’
The British star also revealed sex scenes for the period film took two weeks.
‘I tend to avoid sex scenes as I get embarrassed, [so] we had two weeks of rehearsals,’ she told BBC Sounds yesterday.
‘We’d rolled on the floor with each other….’
‘We couldn’t be embarrassed in front of each other as we’d rolled on the floor with each other, eaten together, shared everything and become genuinely good friends.
‘So when we had to do this, it was like “come on”, snogging is fine. Snogging Rachel Weisz is like you’ve won the lottery!’
She furthermore described her sex scene with Oscar-winner Emma Stone, saying: ‘The other bit, being [pleasured] by Emma Stone, we really struggled with not giggling because there’s also a camera crew.’
Olivia is best known for her roles in The Lobster and The Iron Lady. Her TV roles have included Broadchurch, Peep Show and also an upcoming role on Netflix’s The Crown.
She is expected to get a Best Actress nod for her role as Queen Anne. Emma and Rachel are also vying for Best Supporting Actress nominations.
Emma meanwhile won the Best Actress Oscar for La La Land in 2017. Rachel won Best Supporting for The Constant Gardener in 2005.
