The YouTube channel Cut is out with a new video smashing stereotypes about gender and sex workers.
In the 11-minute video, a handful of people meet 10 strangers. They get to talk to them one-by-one, asking them to do things from dancing to eating a banana.
As they interact with them, they have to guess if the stranger is a sex worker or not. Out of the 10, half of them are involved with the work in some capacity.
At the end of the video, the five workers raise their hands. They get a chance to share what it is they do and various other insights.
One of the workers who does hardcore porn talks about how it’s ’emotionally and physically draining’.
Ultimately, the video challenges people’s ideas of who are and can be sex workers. It also sheds some light on the various aspects this work entails, especially as something still seen as largely taboo.
