RuPaul’s Drag Race star Peppermint appearing at Bristol Pride in the UK

Fresh of her Broadway run, the lip-sync assassin Peppermint will be performing at Bristol Pride 2019

RuPaul’s Drag Race season nine runner up Peppermint was confirmed for the tenth anniversary of Bristol Pride yesterday (25 February).

The first openly trans woman on Drag Race, Peppermint starred in the show in 2017.

Her 13 July slot comes freshly ahead of the reality competition show’s debut in the UK.

Her lip-syncing performances, which include Madonna’s Music and the Village People’s Macho Man earned her the title, Lip Sync Assassin.

Post-Drag Race, Peppermint made her Broadway debut in The Go-Go’s-inspired musical Head Over Heels.

Making her the first trans woman to originate a principal role on Broadway.

Prior to Drag Race, Peppermint sang in New York nightclubs and dropped paradise of songs.

What we know

Bristol Pride this year runs from 2 July to 15 July.

While it is unclear what stage she will perform on, Peppermint is listed against the main stage performers.

In a diverse line-up, singer Sonique, NINA and Hazell Dean will also be performing on the main stage.

Last year, 36,000 people attended while 12,000 marched in the Pride Parade.

The first Pride event held in the southwestern English city was in 2010.

Headliners since have ranged from Blue to Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
