US pop star Pink has shouted back at homophobic Twitter trolls who called her a ‘lesbian’ after dancing with a rainbow flag at a recent gig.
During a stop in Sydney over the weekend, the ‘Truth About Love’ singer waved the gay pride flag after grabbing it from an audience member in the front row.
After she was barraged by a flood of homophobic tweets, the singer took a stand and said:
‘Fun fact:when you twitter me and say "you’re a lesbian" it really doesn’t bother me at all. It’s a compliment. Most of my fav ppl are, so…
‘I’m sure all of you hate filled humans can come up with something a little worse than that?!? Come on- be creative. You have 140 characters!’
The pop rocker has backed several LGBT issues in the past, and has often said she loves her gay fans.
‘I identify with people that struggle and I respect people that have to fight for their right to be respected,’ she said last year.
‘Some of the greatest people I’ve met in my life happen to be gay people and I find that very hard to ignore, I find it very hard to be around racist or homophobic people.’
