Just days after Gawker insinuated that James Franco and actor Scott Haze are romantically involved, Franco joked on Instagram that he has moved on – with Zachary Quinto.
Franco posted a photo of he and Quinto on Instagram over the weekend with the caption: ‘My new lover, SPOCK! zacharyquinto.’
The two are starring in the movie Michael and in it, they are both playing gay – well, ex-gay in Franco’s case.
Michael is about former gay activist Michael Glatze who went from being the co-founder of Young Gay America to denouncing homosexuality and turning to religion.
Glatze married a woman in 2013.
Quinto plays Glatze’s ex-boyfriend in the film.
As for Franco and Haze, who Franco directed in the new film Child of God, they met about a decade ago when they were acting students in Los Angeles and have worked together several times in film and on stage.
Gawker concluded that the relationship is ‘somewhat ambiguous, seemingly gay, probably romantic.’
Franco got wind of Gawker’s take and responded on Instagram: ‘GAWKER – always getting the cutting edge, homophobic scoop!!! Go see CHILD OF GOD in theaters and see me direct my live-in boyfriend, SCOTT HAZE!!! Love you SCOTT!!!!’
