Prestigious TTG Travel Awards names LGBT-Friendly Travel Company of the Year

Hoseasons picks up their TTG Travel Award for LGBT.

Leading travel media title Travel Trade Gazette has named Hoseasons the LGBT-Friendly Travel Company of the Year.

The TTG Travel Awards were held last night at the Lyceum Theatre in London’s West End. They were followed by a black-tie reception at The Savoy.

Travel Trade Gazette has championed LGBTI inclusion in the last few years, holding regular TTG LGBT events and an annual conference.

Last night it honoured Hoseasons, the self-catering holiday specialist.

The firm has put diversity at the heart of its business internally and externally to ensure all guests have amazing experiences. Its brochures, website and marketing materials now depict different ages, races and sexualities. And it has spread this message across media and social media.

Sales and marketing director Anthony Reilly told GSN he hoped their win would inspire others in travel:

‘To win the award for LGBT friendly Travel Company of the Year is superb recognition for the whole team at Hoseasons.

‘We’ve worked hard to ensure we have developed an internal culture which embodies inclusivity; putting it at the heart of everything we do.

‘We hope that by winning this award we will inspire others in the travel industry who haven’t yet embraced diversity. We want to show them it is a rewarding journey both for staff and customers alike.

‘Huge thanks to everyone who voted for us and our partners who continue to support us on this journey.’

Hoseasons also won Accommodation Supplier of the Year.

Celebrity Cruises – also an LGBTI welcoming firm – was the other big winner of the night. The team took home four awards, including Travel Company of the Year.

Scott Nunn, director of Gay Star News, said: ‘It’s great to see two GSN partners, Hoseasons and Celebrity Cruises, performing so brilliantly at the TTG Travel Awards. We know how hard they’ve worked to ensure they serve LGBTI clients well.

‘TTG should take credit too, for their excellent TTG LGBT program. They have done so much to encourage the travel industry to be inclusive.’
