Pride Cymru has just announced its full lineup for the Big Weekend

Only a few days away from Pride Cymru, Cardiff is getting ready to celebrate the LGBTI community and to welcome 40,000 locals and tourists.

The Welsh capital will spread festivities over three days, coinciding with this August’s UK bank holiday weekend.

Despite the controversies between the council and the committee, this year’s Pride will take place at Cardiff City Lawns, just as it was last year.

On Saturday 25 August, a parade will take place around the streets of Cardiff. The march will see 10,000 people walk the mile-long route in the city center.

Families, individuals, groups, and organizations will join the parade to showcase the true diversity and equality across Wales.

Pride Cymru’s chair Lu Thomas said pride ‘reflects who we are as a community and as a nation. It is a celebration of equality, a commitment to ensure that everyone is able to live their lives free of hate.’

This year the parade will be starting on North road. A convoy of marchers from all across Wales will make their way in a loop down St. Mary’s Street and back up Westgate Street.

Furthermore, British singer Gabrielle will perform her hits on Sunday 26 August. Courtney Act, another beloved RPDR’s contestant, will also take the main stage on Sunday, marking the end of the celebrations.

There will also be tribute acts to Amy Winehouse, Little Mix, Cher and Lady Gaga.
