Pride flags fly during Russia’s Eurovision semi-final performance

Pride flags flew clearly and proudly during Russia’s Eurovision semi-final performance last night (19 May).

Polina Gagarina, the Russian act for this yearly camp song contest held in Vienna, Austria, sang A Million Voices.

At one point during the performance, the audience were shown and all you could see were rainbow flags.

People were pretty happy about it.

‘Loving all the gay flags during Russia’s performance,’ one said on Twitter.

‘The pride flags are making me so so happy. #eurovision’ another said.

‘We are all absolutely equal,’ she told Gay Star News.

‘My song is about how all people are the same. We are equal and a million voices are the same everywhere.’
