Queer Eye wins big at Critics’ Choice Real TV Awards

Queer Eye took home four awards last night (2 June) at the Critics’ Choice Real TV Awards.

The Wrap reported that the Netflix show bagged best ensemble cast in an unscripted series, best lifestyle show (fashion/beauty), male star of the year for Johnathon Van Ness, and best structured series.

Meanwhile, RuPaul’s Drag Race scored big by winning best competition series.

Who won what?

The awards, held at the Beverly Hilton, were a joint production of the Broadcast Television Journalists Association and NPACT, the trade organization for nonfiction producers.

Overall, Queer Eye bagged a bounty of awards, and Netflix programs dominated the ceremony.

The streaming service won nine awards to cablle networks CBS, CBS Television/Syndicated, NBC, and PBS’ two.

Netflix also won in the Outstanding Achievement in Nonfiction by a Network or Streaming Platform category.

Moreover, Andy Cohen’s own talkshow scored best interactive show.
