The groundbreaking US TV show Queer As Folk – a remake of the late 90s UK show of the same name – aired for the first time 15 years ago. The controversial drama paved the way for shows such as Looking.
The team at Daily Xtra caught up with actor Randy Harrison to ask him about the continued popularity of the show and the evolution of the gay scene.
‘It’s still important to people and I think it sort of gets to people in different parts of the world when they need this sort of representation,’ Randy said.
‘[If the show was to come back] it would be so different… Queer As Folk was pre-apps so the whole way gay people related to each other, to a huge extent was different.’
