A Republican lawmaker needs you to know he’s heterosexual and doesn’t like men so please don’t touch his arm.
Pennsylvania’s House State Government Committee met yesterday (5 December) to talk landlocked easements and roads.
But Republican Daryl Metcalfe needed to get something off his chest.
He interrupted Democratic chairman Matt Bradford with a very important point of order… to tell the world about his fragile masculinity.
‘Look, I’m a heterosexual,’ he professed.
‘I have a wife, I love my wife. I don’t like men, as you might. Stop touching me all the time. Keep your hands to yourself.
‘If you want to touch somebody, you have people on your side of the aisle that might like it. I don’t,’ also he warned.
‘Then beg, don’t touch’
Bradford was dumbfounded. Barely managing to keep his composure, he then says: ‘We’re officially off the rails.’
The whole Committee breaks out into laughter. Bradford continues: ‘My intent was just to beg for your permission for about 30 seconds…’
‘Then beg, don’t touch,’ Metcalfe interrupts again.
Bradford, who is actually married to a woman, then decided to call a motion to postpone.
‘I’m pretty much without further comment that could be constructive at this time,’ he said.
