REVIEW: Z Hotel Glasgow

A bed with white sheets under big open windows

As far as great locations and a welcoming environment go, the Z Hotel in Glasgow is a great option for those visiting Scotland’s biggest city.

Located on the doorstep of the George Square, the Z Hotel is a stone’s throw from the city centre and the popular Gallery of Modern Art. But the hotel is also a short walk from important sites such as the Glasgow Cathedral and Necropolis.

The bustling Merchant City full of bars, restaurants and live music venues is only a short stumble away from the hotel. For those interested in visiting Glasgow’s trendy West End a very quick subway trip will get you there in about 10 minutes.

The Z Hotel is perfect for people who need practical, no fuss hotel that’s also aesthetically pleasing with friendly staff.

The best part of the stay at the Z Hotel is definitely the wine and cheese event which happens every night. It’s a good way to warm up before the night’s activities and allows you to meet other guests staying at the hotel.

Served in the cosy dining area, guests can enjoy complimentary cheese and a glass of wine before they hit the town.

Breakfast at the hotel is a standard, but tasty affair. The delicious bacon and egg rolls go fantastically with the wide option of cured meats, bread, cheese, muesli and fruits.

The rooms are exactly the right size for anyone on a quick visit. Filled with all the necessary amenities, the beds are very comfortable and warm. The only downside for street facing rooms is the noise from the street traffic can get a little loud, but it was nothing that would wake you up in the middle of the night.

But the rooms enjoy massive windows which let in a lot of natural light making the room feel all the more comfortable.

Even though it’s not the world’s most glamorous hotel, the Z Hotel in Glasgow is comfy and nice enough to make any trip to Glasgow very enjoyable.
