Rick Santorum says he has now fixed his gay sex ‘Google problem’

Rick Santorum has just asked people to 'Google' him. Seriously

For a long time (precisely 13 years), any time you googled Rick Santorum, you would end up with a somewhat gross term that had a lot to do with gay sex.

Back in 2003, gay advocate and sex columnist Dan Savage asked his readers to create a definition for the word ‘santorum’ after the then-US senator spoke openly against homosexuality.

He compared same-sex marriage to child abuse or bestiality.

Savage picked the winner, defining ‘santorum’ as ‘the frothy mixture of lube and fecal matter that is sometimes the byproduct of anal sex’.

And so, if you googled ‘Rick Santorum’, that was the word that came up the most.

But not anymore. On Thursday night, Santorum said the phrase many thought he would never say.

‘Google Rick Santorum,’ the former senator said on the Fox Business Network’s debate.

Santorum’s Google problem now no longer appears if you write ‘Rick Santorum’, but it does if you just use his last name.
