Right-wing pundit files assault charges against trans reporter after on-air spat

Zoey Tur argues with Ben Shapiro.

The editor of an anti-gay news site has filed assault charges against transgender reporter Zoey Tur following a on-air argument about Caitlyn Jenner.

Ben Shapiro filed the report at the Los Angeles Police Department on Sunday (19 July) morning, two days after he argued with Tur on the HLN’s Dr Drew On Call.

During a panel discussion on Caitlyn Jenner’s recent Arthur Ashe Courage Award, Shapiro repeatedly refused to refer to the former Olympian by her preferred pronoun and called transgender people mentally ill and deluded.

He then deliberately provoked Tur by asking her, ‘What are your genetics, sir?’

In response, Tur put her hand on the back of Shapiro’s neck and told him calmly: ‘You cut that out now, or you’ll go home in an ambulance.’

Shapiro also accused Tur of threatening him after their appearance, which she has denied.

‘Just because the left has designated someone a member of the victim class does not mean that that person gets to infringe the rights of others,’ he told Breitbart News, the site he edits.

‘Until the left learns that, their aggression will not stop.’
