When we first heard that 15 stars from RuPaul’s Drag Race were going on a Battle of the Seasons Tour we thought there’s bound to be some drama.
But instead of wig-snatching, the drama came in the form of a tour bus and some deep snow.
The queens taking part in the tour revealed on Twitter their tour bus had broken down after becoming stuck in some snow.
The Battle of the Seasons tour bus was heading to the Playhouse Square in Cleveland, Ohio when disaster struck and they were not able to make their 9pm curtain.
Playhouse Square tweeted fans their apologies.
‘Unfortunately the queens of @RuPaulBOTS are stranded on the road & we’re going to have to postpone tonight’s show,’ they said.
Alumni from TV series RuPaul’s Drag Race taking part in the tour include Sharon Needles, Raja, Bianca Del Rio and Jinx Monsoon plus many more favourites from across the seasons. The tour is hosted by Michelle Visage and takes the queens across the US and Europe.
Darienne Lake, from season six, tweeted her fans for help.
‘The #RupaulBOTS tour bus broke down in the snow. Send the Saint Bernards with bottles of vodka to @bendelacreme @JinkxMonsoon @Ivy_Winters,’ she said.
Michelle Visage, who recently won a whole legion of new fans after appearing on Celebrity Big Brother in the UK, tweeted a photo of her and the queens.
‘My current situation. #partybusrescue,’ she captioned the photo.
Some fans saw the funny side of it.
‘It’s time for you to reenact Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. The whole movie,’ said Frank the Dasher.
‘Don’t blame the snow for the bus breaking down. It was probably India Ferrah. Bitch!’ said Queen Deltrese.
However, some fans of the show looking forward to seeing the tour were disappointed.
‘I know that stuff comes up but…an hour before meet and greet is when you decide to contact people? We drove 3 and a half hours to be here,’ said Nick Ingels on Facebook.
However, fans were informed they will receive a full refund and the date will be rearranged.
Fans of RuPaul’s Drag Race will know that drag queens will prevail in any situation, and of course this was no different. Seeing the funny side, the ladies wasted no time in throwing a little shade.
Darienne Lake imitated Laganja Estranja’s infamous outburst on the show by tweeting: ‘I FEEL VERY ATTACKED!’
Twitter also informs us that emergency rations of vodka and gin, and hummus for Michelle Visage, are on their way.
The Battle of the Seasons tour finishes in April in Barcelona, Spain so let’s hope they can get through the rest of the tour without any more breakdowns.
