There’s lots of changes for RuPaul’s Drag Race in season 7, with new queens, new judges and new challenges.
And with it, a replacement for the phrase that introduces each episode’s events.
For the first five seasons, queens met in the workroom to await the sound of RuPaul saying ‘Oooh, gurl, you’ve got she-mail! to tease what was about to happen.
But during season six, a controversy broke over that phrase as well as a mini challenge ‘Female or She-male’. Some, including previous contestant Carmen Carrera, said the use of transphobic phrases and words had gone too far.
Logo removed the offensive segments from all future episodes, with queens only hearing ‘Ooh gurl!’
For season seven, it has been changed to (spoiler warning) ‘She done already done had herses’.
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard this. During season three, the queens had to guess RuPaul quotes like Wheel of Fortune.
During the tiebreaker round ‘Ghetto Shit RuPaul Says’, Delta Work snatched the win.
RuPaul’s Drag Race season 7 premieres tonight on Logo at 9/8c.
