RuPaul’s Drag Race queen helps save the life of gunshot wound victim

Dax ExclamationPoint

While the RuPaul’s Drag Race fandom is obsessed with Maskgate right now, we have to shine a light on how some drag queens are almost real life superheroes.

Dax ExclamationPoint, probably best known to fans for sashaying away in a double elimination in season 8, proved her survival instinct after one performance in Atlanta on Friday night (19 May).

It was towards the end of the night after Dax had finished hosting the show at the Drag Race viewing party in Mary’s, east Atlanta.

A guy left, was nearly mugged, and when he had nothing to give the robber shot him through the leg.

‘We heard a shot and he staggered back to the bar looking for help,’ Dax said on Twitter.

Thinking quickly, she used a season 7 winner (and her drag daughter) Violet Chachki t-shirt as a tourniquet for the gun shot wound to help stop the bleeding.

‘Luckily the bullet went right through and no major arteries were hit…it was jarring but everyone is alright now,’ Dax added, saying the cops quickly showed up and took care of everything.

Posting on social media the day after: ‘Lifetime achievement unlocked: ‘I just used a Violet Chachki t-shirt as a tourniquet for a gun shot wound… yeah Violet helped save a life.’

She added: ‘I’m just glad i live in a city where everyone comes together in a time of immediate crisis. I love you Atlanta. ESPECIALLY EAST Atlanta…’

And while some of her followers couldn’t resist a little shade…

Everyone can agree that was at least some real life superhero work.
