Sally Field urges Americans to vote, then her gay son hilariously responds

Sally Field and her gay son Sam Greisman

Academy award winner Sally Field turns 72 tomorrow (6 November) and asked her fans for a very special birthday present.

To go and vote!

She tweeted: ‘Tuesday is my 72nd birthday. I want one great big gift that can only come from you. Vote. Like our lives depend on it.

‘Because they do. Vote,’ she wrote.

The tweet went viral, with over 12,000 retweets and 75,000 likes – at the time of writing.

Then her gay son Sam Greisman quote-tweeted his mom and responded: ‘Please vote.

‘Cuz I didn’t get her anything,’ he added.

Mother and son team

It’s not the first time the mother and son teamed up for some social media fun.

Earlier this year, Sally Field attempted to set her son up with Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon.

Greisman tweeted a screenshot of a text message exchange between him and his award winning actress mother.

He texted: ‘Lol and say what? To date me?? Haha.’

Field replied: ‘Sam… he’s insanely pretty. Find a way.’

Sally Field then retweeted her son’s tweet and actually tagged Rippon in it.

It led to an adorable social media exchange between the Olympic figure skater and Greisman. The pair then met a month later at the Human Rights Campaign Gala Dinner in New York City.

Greisman tweeted a photo of the two at the awards ceremony.
