Sam Smith has topped Spotify’s Global Top 50 with his new single Too Good At Goodbyes.
The heartfelt ballad is currently attracting 4,356,782 daily plays on the music streaming service.
It’s proven enough to knock Taylor Swift off the top spot, whose Right Said Fred-sampling song Look What You Made Me Do is garnering 4,022,839 daily plays.
Sam is also top of the table on Spotify’s United Kingdom Top 50 chart.
Meanwhile, he’s number two on the United States Top 50, the Hong Kong Top 50 and the Canada Top 50. He’s also at number three on the Australia Top 50.
Spotify has over 60 million subscribers worldwide, and over 140 million active users as of June 2017. It is available in 61 markets.
Too Good At Goodbyes is reported to be outselling its closest rival, Dua Lipa’s New Rules, by a ratio of almost 2-to-1.
Sam currently has five number one singles to his name in the UK.
Earlier this week, Sam took to Instagram to thank fans for their support.
‘Completely overwhelmed by the reaction to my new music,’ he wrote.
‘Thank you for listening, and for all your incredible messages and comments. I am reading them all!’
The star has also revealed his relationship status in the last week, telling Beats 1: ‘This song is about me and about a relationship that I was in. I’m still very, very single.
‘I think I’m even more single than I was when I released In the Lonely Hour, so I’m insanely single!’
