Actress and bisexual actress Sara Ramirez gave her all during a performance of True Colors with Cyndi Lauper.
The Tony winner and the singer teamed up for a stunning rendition of the famous queer anthem. Ramirez joined Lauper for Cyndi Lauper and Friends: Home for the Holidays at New York City’s Beacon Theatre, raising money for Lauper’s True Colors Fund on 8 December.
Lauper launched the Fund in 2010 to help LGBTI homeless youth.
Ramirez took to Twitter to post a video of their duet.
‘Still can’t believe I got to duet True Colors with @cyndilauper last night. Filled with gratitude, hope, LOVE. #Home4Holidays @truecolorsfund,’ the actress tweeted.
At the end of the performance, Ramirez turned around to reveal her one-piece jumper read ‘trans is beautiful’ on the back.
The actress is famous for her groundbreaking portrayal of bisexual doctor Callie Torres on ABC Grey’s Anatomy. The character was first introduced in 2006 and made her last appearance in 2016. In the same year, Ramirez came out as bisexual.
The actress is now playing another bisexual role, that of Kat Sandoval in Madame Secretary.
Ramirez was so excited about the duet that a single tweet wasn’t enough, of course. She posted a beautiful black and white snap of her and Lauper.
Still processing….and I’m gonna take my sweet time too. When a dream comes true after you work your butt off and ask for what you want? You soak it up and replay it in your mind over & over. #DayInLGBTQ pic.twitter.com/0JOANnwqgd
