Sara Ramirez says her Grey’s Anatomy character will always be ‘sexually fluid’

They are such a popular couple that they are simply known to many fans as Calzona.

They are Grey’s Anatomy doctors Callie Torres and Arizona Robbins who have been navigating rough waters and may split up for good.

Sara Ramirez, who plays Torres, says that if a final split occurs, her character may move on with another woman or a man.

‘A lot of people don’t understand that sexual orientation is very much defined by who you are attracted to and who you have romantic feelings for,’ Ramirez tells TV/Line.com.

‘Callie has been identified as sexually fluid and or bisexual,’ she says. ‘That means that means that regardless of what relationship she’s in, what gender she’s in a relationship with, her sexual orientation will always be bisexual – she will be attracted to both men and women.’

Sara Ramirez is in nearly every scene of this week’s episode of ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy as her character of Dr. Callie Torres deals with a professional crisis and personal turmoil.

Callie is facing a malpractice lawsuit at the same time that her marriage to Arizona has hit the skids and she is about to find out her wife is cheating on her with an intern at the hospital.

It all comes to a head on this week’s episode in which, for the first time, Ramirez is in nearly every scene.
