American Horror Story actress Sarah Paulson has spilled the tea on the modern, relatable way she and partner Holland Taylor got together.
Paulson appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen to promote her new movie Glass, directed by M. Night Shyamalan.
Asked about her love life and current partner, Two and a Half Men actress Taylor, Paulson revealed how the two started dating.
It wasn’t on Raya
‘Did you meet on Raya?’ asked Cohen, referring to the celebrity dating app.
‘It’s a long story. We met a very, very long time ago,’ Paulson explained.
‘I was with someone else.’
While Paulson didn’t say who she was referring to, she reportedly dated actress Cherry Jones from 2004 to 2009. The Blue Jay actress and Holland, however, started dating in early 2015.
Years after that first encounter, the two women met again through actress Martha Plimpton.
‘It was for an organization that she was working with and we were both doing a little PSA for it…We sort of breezed by each other and started following each other on Twitter.’
And then Taylor Holand slid through Paulson’s DMs.
‘Holland Taylor slid into your DMs?’ asked fellow guest Billy Eichner. Paulson confirmed, saying ‘she actually did!’
‘We love each other’ said Paulson
Paulson previously addressed the age gap in her relationship with Holland.
The actress told Town & Country magazine: ‘I do not want to be defined by who I share my bed, my home, my soul with. My choices in life have been unconventional, and that’s my business. But I do want to live responsibly and truthfully without hiding.’
She furthermore added: ‘It’s complicated, because there is a lot of hate in this world, and a lot of good can come from quote-unquote normalizing something for people who don’t see it as normal. Our relationship represents a certain amount of hope and risk.
‘Maybe there’s something brave in it. Maybe it encourages others to make brave choices. What else can I say? We love each other.’
