A paramedic in South Africa believes deadly fires in Knysna are a direct result from same-sex marriages.
Bossie Boshoff (not his real first name) took to Facebook to insinuate God’s wrath was behind the natural disaster.
The fire killed six people and forced over 10,000 evacuations. Boshoff believes the Dutch Reformed Church allowing 12 same-sex marriages at the annual Pink Loerie Mardi Gras and Arts Festival angered God.
He wrote: ‘Can you remember last year when Knysna was made up in pink and 12 homosexual marriages took place on one day?’ reports News 24.
He continued: ‘It was only after the election of the Dutch Reformed Church when they approved gay homosexual marriage.
‘It was all over the newspapers. They mustn’t cry now about the fire. It dared god. God doesn’t let himself be mocked,’ he said.
Boshoff works for Netcare 911, an emergency service in South Africa. Managing director Craig Grindell confirmed Boshoff was suspended and would face a disciplinary panel next week.
Grindell said: ‘Netcare and Netcare 911 have a firm, zero tolerance stance towards discrimination of any kind.
‘We will not hesitate to take the strongest possible action when made aware of any action, and or behaviour, of a staff member which transgresses the company’s values, ethics and code of conduct,’ he said.
‘Gay marriage will wipe out humanity’
Same-sex marriage often takes the blame for bad occurrences in the world.
In 2013, a Nigerian pastor said gay marriage will wipe out humanity, in a bizarre and tired rant.
According to the Nigerian Tribune,Pastor Enoch Adeboye said: ‘Same-sex marriage is an anathema to the will of God for human beings to be fruitful, replenish and multiply on earth. Anything contrary to that is evil.
‘How can a man who marries a fellow man produce a child and how can a woman who marries a fellow woman produce a child?
‘If this evil is allowed to stay, there will not be newborns again in the world. As the older generation dies, will there be a new generation to succeed it? Even plants and animals have new generations to succeed them,’ he said.
The pastor called on people practicing homosexuality to repent and ‘flee from the wrath of God, adding ‘like poles repel, while unlike poles attract.’
