WWE lesbian wrestler Sonya Deville opened up on why she loves inspiring others in the community.

Deville (real name Daria Berenato) came out on national television three years ago during a televised Tough Enough competition.

Deville came out on national TV

‘During the preliminary taping of the first premiere episode, they asked me if I was in a relationship.

‘I had a girlfriend at the time,’ she said.

Deville then explained: ‘I thought “What do I do… well, tell the truth, right?” So I said, “Yeah, I have a girlfriend, but she’s not my wife yet”.

‘I got nervous, and they all started smiling.

‘I said, “Oh my god, I just came out on national television”. And Triple H replied, “Yeah you did!”

‘I just came back with, “Oh well, that’s that!”’

The wrestler wants to spread the positivity

Deville is now determined to keep sharing her own struggles regarding her sexuality in order to help others and to continue ‘spreading the positivity’.

Speaking to Last Word on Pro Wrestling, she said: ‘I love being able to share my story to help others relate or cope with their own stuff they have going on at home.’

She furthermore added: ‘My personal life is a big part of who my character is. Sonya is the way she is for a reason and I love enlightening the fans on what those things are because so many people are going through similar experiences and have amazing stories I love to hear and relate to myself.’
