A HIV group in the Philippines has put a new spin on ‘squad goals’ by reminding people to look after their friends.

LoveYourself, Inc. is one of the Philippines leading HIV organizations and has come up with the new #LoveSquad campaign.

The campaign is about encouraging people to support their friends. Whether it is to get tested or support them through a HIV diagnosis.

LoveSquad was launched to coincide with the organization’s regular HIV screening day.

‘We chose LoveSquad for this HIV screening day, because it is always better to have friends supporting one another, especially to potentially life changing events in their lives, like knowing one’s HIV status,’ said LoveYourself, Inc. executive director Ronivin G. Pagtakhan.

This year’s #LoveSquad is led by Blued ambassador Sebastian Castro and Fifth Solomon, who urge groups and individuals to know their HIV status.

The next HIV screening day is happening on 26 November, so people should starting getting their crew to head down to get tested.

‘The objective of #LoveSquad is to reach out to key-affected populations like the youth to promote HIV screening as a regular part of one’s self-care routine and of course, to remove its stigma,’ Pagtakhan said.

LoveYourself, Inc has chosen to target millenials in their latest campaign because they are at great risk of acquiring HIV.

Of the 1,013 new HIV cases in June, 27 was the average age of diagnosed people. People aged between 25-34 years old made up half of those new cases. People between 15-24 years made up 32% of new cases.

LoveYourself, Inc.’s HIV screening starts at 10am until 7pm on 26 November. People interested in heading down can register here:
