Hillary Clinton on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

Last night (19 September), Hillary Clinton appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. She discussed her new book What Happened about last year’s election as well as Donald Trump’s recent UN speech.

While election night is difficult to remember for many, Colbert brought it up in an unexpectedly funny way.

‘I found out… that our next president was going to be Donald J. Trump and I was not happy about this,’ Colbert begins. On election night, he did a live show on Showtime and discussed how the energy felt like a ‘funeral’ as the results came in.

As the two talked about it, Colbert revealed an envelope with ‘Unused Clinton Victory Jokes’.

Check it out for yourself because it has to be seen to be believed.

‘One of the things we were going to do to celebrate that night now that a woman is in charge is have naked men on the stage,’ Colbert reveals.

Clinton immediately bursts into laughter and her laughs only got bigger as Colbert shows the photo.

The photo shows a line of naked men with the phrase ‘I’m with her!’ painted across their butt-cheeks.

Just another reason to recall that night with sorrow.

Clinton, as well, talked about how it was hard to remember, especially while writing her book.

‘It wasn’t easy. It was painful. It was horrible, reliving it. And, you know, being as candid, open as I could be about the mistakes I made, and talking about those,’ she tells the host. ‘But also trying to come to grips, as I write in the book, about everything from sexism and misogyny to voter suppression to the unusual behavior of the former Director of the FBI, and the Russians. And the Russians.’
