Steps are back – and they haven't aged a day

Steps have literally stepped back in time with new single Scared of the Dark.

The flawless pop masterpiece is the perfect way to launch their comeback – and it’s right up there with the best of the UK band’s 90s discography.

And it seems the British public agree – in a step even they probably didn’t see coming, the track is currently at No. 3 in the UK iTunes singles chart!

Listen to the Eurovision-tastic track below…

The band – comprised of Clare Richards, Faye Tozer, Lisa Scott-Lee, Lee Latchford-Evans and Ian ‘H’ Watkins – will also release a new album next month.

The LP, named Tears on the Dancefloor, is out 21 April, and features songs co-written by ABBA’s Bjorn and Benny.

Steps were commonly compared to the iconic Swedish band during their tenure as England’s premier post-Spice Girls pop act.

The band enjoyed a record-breaking 14 uninterrupted top five hits in the UK, including two number ones. One of their signature songs, the line-dancing ditty 5, 6, 7, 8, is the biggest-selling song ever to not reach the top 10 in the English top 40.

Of course, they all look as great as they did in the 90s – especially Lee, who many 90s gay boys had their sexual awakening to…

But the person for whom life has changed the most is probably H. The Welsh star was in the closet during the band’s heyday, but has since been out and proud for years. He’s also now a proud dad to two one-year-old boys.

The band will also tour the UK this year, where they’ll be joined by fellow 90s act Vengaboys – dates are available here. Good to have you back, guys!
