Street artist is going to paint over his 2015 Kevin Spacey mural

The Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) mural in Manchester

Throughout English cities, there are a series of murals featuring — well, let’s just say morally grey fictional characters. One of them happens to be Kevin Spacey’s Frank Underwood from the Netflix series House of Cards.

The murals are part of street artist Akse’s ‘Psychopaths’ series.

Soon, however, Frank Underwood will no longer be included.

Early on Friday (17 November), Akse made a Facebook post announcing he’ll be ‘replacing the Kevin Spacey mural as a result of the recent allegations’. He adds it was a ‘joint decision with the wall owners’.

Nurhbai and Co. Accountants owns the wall.

They praised the mural when it was originally created in May 2015.

According to the BBC, though, accountancy firm owner Hussain Nurbhai was ‘adamant’ it be removed following the allegations against Spacey.

Some photos from today. Akse P19 finishes off his latest piece from his Psychopaths Project, Frank Underwood played by Kevin Spacey in House of Cards. We love it! We hope you do to! Thank you Akse.

The ‘Psychopaths’ series includes numerous characters, from Kathy Bates’ Annie Wilkes in Misery (Manchester) to Samuel L. Jackson’s Jules Winnfield in Pulp Fiction (London).

Akse has not revealed what or whom he’ll be replacing the Frank Underwood mural, whether another ‘Psychopath’ or not.

There are plenty of options out there. After all, there’s no mural of Alex from A Clockwork Orange yet.

Check a few more of the murals below.

Who do you think Akse should paint in place of Frank Underwood?
