Taiwan pop princess Jolin Tsai kisses actress in music video about gay marriage

The Taiwanese queen of pop Jolin Tsai locks lips with actress Ruby Lin in the music video for her new song, We’re All Different, Yet The Same.

The clip is based on the true story of a lesbian couple who have been together for more than 30 years.

However, when one was hospitalized due to old age and required emergency surgery, her partner could not sign the consent form because she was not her legal spouse or family member.

When medical staff asked, ‘What is your relationship with the patient?’ she could only answer, ‘A good friend.’

She then had to call around to try and find her partner’s estranged family members to the sign the form.

The music video has already received a lot of attention in Taiwan, where gay marriage is a hot topic.

The kiss was an impromptu suggestion from the director and took an hour to film.

‘People used to tell me that I look like Ruby Lin. I finally met her today, and we kissed on our first meeting,’ Tsai said.
