The Olympic flame left Greece and is now in Moscow. From there it will head to Sochi for the 2014 Winter Games.
Despite the festive ceremony spread to accept the torch, the flame had its own agenda. According to the Washington Post Shavarsh Karapetyan, a one-time champion swimmer, was running with the torch when the flame went out.
A lighter quickly made everything right, but the sports news site Deadspin described the scene perfectly:
‘There is no better image for these Sochi Olympics than light going dark once inside the Russian border.’
Couldn’t say it better. GSN loves the Olympic flame and Deadspin.
