This Digital Pride call for LGBTI equality is being shown in Times Square

This LGBTI message will be screened across Digital Pride week

Digital Pride will be making its biggest impact ever with a call for LGBTI equality screened in Times Square, New York City.

Hundreds of thousands of people every day will see the call to action as part of Gay Star News’s Millions of Us campaign.

The message will be seen on Thomas Reuters billboards in Times Square, as well as in Canary Wharf, London, all this week.

It reads: ‘All LGBTI+ people deserve freedom, equality and protection.

‘Join the Millions of Us fighting for this world.’

It is estimated over half a million (560,000) people will see the billboards in London. It is possible around 2.7 million people will walk past the billboards in New York City.

Hundreds of millions of people live in countries which still persecute LGBTI people.

Celebrities, activists and allies are joining together to support Digital Pride’s viral message.

Believes in equality have signed up to a Thunderclap that will be posted on social media on 26 April at 5pm.

The cause will already reach over 31 million people, and with your help that number can be higher.

A Gay Star News spokesperson said: ‘We are working with LGBTI people in some of the toughest places in the world to be yourself.

‘We want to raise their profile and give them a platform to tell their stories.

‘The Thunderclap is the start of all that. A moment to tell the world that every single one of us deserves freedom, equality and protection, wherever we live in the world.

‘We believe millions of people around the globe care about this and agree with us.

‘Let’s prove it.’

Digital Pride, in its third year, is running from 23 to 28 April.

What is Digital Pride?

Digital Pride is a Pride anyone can take part in, provided you can get online.

You can be part of Digital Pride if you live in a country where your sexuality is criminalized. You can enjoy it even if your nearest Pride is hundreds of miles away. And you can even take part from your bedroom if you want.

Join the Thunderclap here. It takes two minutes of your time.
