Ruby Rose has just come out as gender-fluid, not identifying as either a woman or a man. Her personal preference is to still use female pronouns.
The 28-year-old Australian supermodel and DJ has released a short film, Break Free, dealing with the topic of gender identity.
In the film, she transforms from a buxom blonde with long hair to a heavily tattooed man with short hair.
‘Whether straight, gay, bi, trans … body image and identity can be a struggle for us all,’ Rose told News Corp Australia.
‘This video was made to challenge that status quo.’
She added: ‘I am very gender fluid and feel more like I wake up every day sort of gender neutral.’
Helping Rose with the project was her fiancé Phoebe Dahl, the granddaughter of acclaimed children’s author Roald Dahl.
