13 Reasons Why actor Tommy Dorfman revealed he was sexually abused and assaulted at 14.

He told his story on Twitter, in response to Anthony Rapp’s recent allegations against Kevin Spacey. Rapp opened up to BuzzFeed News, alleging Spacey made sexual advances towards him when he was 14 and Spacey was 26.

Dorfman tweeted: ‘As a person who was sexually asulted [sic] and abused at 14 by a 27 year old, I applaued @albinokid for his courage. It’s scary to speak out.’

@albinokid is Rapp’s Twitter handle.

In an earlier interview with Gay Times, Dorfman opened up about the incident.

‘When you’re 14, you think it’s totally fine,’ he explained. ‘I didn’t wanna, when I bottomed for the first time, like, I was really young, and I didn’t quite know what that meant. I only had porn really.’

He goes on to explain his inexperience and inability to consent: ‘I didn’t have the language to ask for what I might need or even say no in that kind of position. It was a very scary thing. And I think for me at 14 I thought I could do anything and I was ready for anything… and I wasn’t, I was not ready for that.’

The floodgates are open

Rapp initially came forward with his story after the dozens of women shared their experiences with Harvey Weinstein.

Reactions to and consequences for both Weinstein and Spacey have been swift. Both The Weinstein Co. and the Academy ousted Weinstein. Spacey’s special Emmy was revoked and House of Cards is ending, with production halted indefinitely.

Hollywood is going through nothing short of an upheaval, and one that is long overdue.
