Trailer for new Matt Bomer movie unveiled – he plays straight in Space Station 76

The trailer for a new feature film starring Matt Bomer has been released this week but it is not the openly gay actor playing the not so straight role.

In Space Station 76, described as a Science fiction dark comedy, it is co-star Patrick Wilson who plays a character who is struggling with bisexuality.

Bomer, currently filming the sixth and final season of TV’s White Collar, plays the role of Ted, a mechanic married to a woman named Misty (Marisa Coughlan).

The film is set in a 1970s-version of the future and is about a group of people and robots living on a space station. They face inner turmoil when a new assistant captain (Liv Tyler) arrives and sparks tension.

Directed and co-written by Jack Plotnick, Space Station 76 does not yet have a release date.

It is Bomer’s first big screen role since 2012’s Magic Mike although he received critical raves and an Emmy nomination for his performance in HBO’s The Normal Heart.
