Randy Rainbow is back with his latest song parody targeting the Trump administration using musical theater and sharp rhymes.
This time, Rainbow is taking on the iconic Cell Block Tango from Chicago. His version is about Robert Mueller’s ongoing investigation into Donald Trump and any alleged ties to Russia during the 2016 presidential campaign.
The investigation so far has resulted in dozens of indictments and several guilty pleas.
Acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker recently said the investigation is ‘close to being completed’.
In Rainbow’s biting satirical version of Cell Block Tango, he takes the song’s well-known repetition of words and creates his own: Trump, six, flip, cuckoo, Huckabee, and Mueller.
In the original song, six female inmates — the 6 Married Murderesses — sing about how they ended up in jail. Their crimes are killing or being suspected of killing their lovers and husbands.
Rainbow, instead, focuses on six Trump associates who have been indicted, charged, or pled guilty to various crimes over the course of the investigation.
He sings the familiar refrain: ‘They had it comin’.’
Flip refers to Michael Cohen, Trump’s personal lawyer, who is now working with federal agents on the case, as Rainbow wonders who will ‘flip’ next.
Cuckoo is a reference to Rudy Giuliani, an attorney for Trump, while Huckabee, of course, is press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
As like all Randy Rainbow videos, this one is full of hilarious, biting jabs; talented singing; and an appreciation for the snark of musical theater.
