People take to Twitter to explain gay culture

Over the weekend, Twitter user @introvertgay tweeted about ‘gay culture’ and it kicked off a fascinating conversation about just what it is.

Many people related to the original tweet, which reads: ‘Gay culture is being a teenager when you’re 30 because your teenage years were not yours to live.’

It currently boasts 13,000 re-tweets and 61,000 likes.

Since the original tweet Friday (1 September) night, people took the idea and ran with it. Over the past several days, and still going strong today, various Twitter users are tweeting their own thoughts about the gay culture.

Scrolling through the social media channel, however, one realizes this conversation has been happening for longer than the viral tweet as well. Regardless of when the tweets were made or what prompted them, however, the results are all at once hilarious, thought-provoking, deep, and on-point.
