YouTube superstar Tyler Oakley has kicked off 2017 by being named to the Forbes Magazine ’30 Under 30′ list.
He’s plenty excited about it.
‘I’m freaking OUT,’ he wrote on Instagram. ‘I made the #30Under30 list by @forbes this year. I’m beyond honored and can’t quite believe it.’
The sixth annual list is comprised of 30 game changers who are under 30 years old in 20 industries – 600 in total.
They are chosen because, according to Forbes, they ‘challenge the conventional wisdom and rewriting the rules for the next generation of entrepreneurs, entertainers, educators and more.’
The 27 year old Oakley is part of the ‘Hollywood and Entertainment’ list.
He has 5.5 million followers on Twitter, 6.8 million Instagram followers and 8 million YouTube subscribers.
Oakley is thankful to his fans.
‘Couldn’t have happened without all of you,’ he writes. ‘Feeling so inspired by the people with whom I’m on the list and ready to make 2017 an incredible year.
‘Almost 10 years after starting this weird YouTube ride, I’m feeling like this is just a starting line, not a finish line. So much left to do!’
