UK named most popular gay travel destination

Over two in three gay people say the UK is their number gay holiday hotspot.

In a survey of 560 British and American people by LGBT marketing consultant Out Now, on behalf of luxury gay travel companion Les Deux Messieurs, 71% said they want to visit Britain.

Nearly a third also expressed interest in a UK vacation at least three times a year.

This news follows a worldwide survey of 50,000 people by Out Now in 2012.

61% of US participants said they desired to visit UK in the next three years. London was named as the number one in their list of top European destinations.

‘The hospitality industry should take note,’ said Hugh Wright, editor for Les Deux Messieurs.

‘Welcoming gay travelers makes absolute sense and needs to be reflected right across the holidaying experience.

‘We love the UK and created Les Deux Messieurs to inform and inspire gay travelers and their friends to get out and explore it.

‘By using our reviews, we are confident that the gay travelers planning to holiday here, will find their perfect UK stay away.’

Results from this survey follow London’s recent competition with New York to become the number one gay travel hotspot.
