Nigel Wilkinson jailed for drugging and raping male models

A British photographer was jailed after drugging and raping male models at his home.

Nigel Wilkinson, a 43-year-old shop manager, posed as a photographer and offered men a free photoshoot – even offering to pay their train fares to Bristol.

And once there, he would take photos of them in nothing but their underwear and give his victims cocktails to boost their ‘confidence’.

These drinks were spiked with the date rape drug Rohypnol.

It is believed there were both gay and straight victims.

He was found out after a 19-year-old man from Kent tried to text his girlfriend inside Wilkinson’s home after he tasted a tablet on his tongue.

When his parents couldn’t find him, they called the police.

The teen was found at Wilkinson’s home with no memory of what had happened to him. Tests found he had been drugged and raped.

When police arrived to arrest Wilkinson, they found another 23-year-old man passed out on the sofa who had also been drugged and raped.

Another of his victims, again 19, has also come forward. Police found images of many men in the Bristol home, so there could be many more victims, so they are urging them to step forward.

Detective Constable Stacey Matthews praised the ‘immense bravery, dignity and courage’ of the victims, and urged others to come forward.

She said: ‘We’re always here and ready to listen to, believe and respect victims.

‘Our vital work to change perceptions and improve our response to male victims of rape or sexual assault is continuing to evolve and I hope it’s encouraging more victims to find the strength to come forward.

‘If you don’t want to speak to the police, please speak to someone. Don’t suffer in silence.’

Wilkinson pleaded guilty to two counts of rape, three counts of administering a substance with intent to commit rape and one count of possession of class C drugs.

He was jailed for 11-and-a-half years.
