Vogue magazine thinks Drag Race’s Shea Coulee and Bob the Drag Queen are the same person, or at least they posted something very careless.
On Instagram, the fashion magazine posted a photo of season 9 star Shea Couleé at NYC’s Drag Con.
But the quotes were from season 8 winner Bob the Drag Queen.
‘Drag queens have been on the forefront of every single social movement for queer people,’ Bob is quoted as saying.
But when it was posted, many people said Vogue had got the wrong black queen.
‘Why you put a pic of Shea Couleé and then talk about Bob The Drag Queen in the caption,’ one said, along the black emoticon face.
‘This is awkward…’ another said.
‘Love the photo but this is Shea Couleé, not Bob the Drag Queen. You got the wrong Black Queen… seems pretty careless. Probably want to fix that ASAP…. ⏳’ one added.
And they did fix it asap.
The caption now reads from quotes of RuPaul.
It reads: ‘Now more than ever, “with what is happening politically, what is happening socially, we are ambassadors for these young, gorgeous kids . . . the promise of America’s future,” @rupaulofficial said the morning of @rupaulsdragcon. “We are hope.”
