When a homophobic preacher protests Pride, all they want to do is for their hatred to be heard.
So the most perfect way to respond is simply drown them out, as the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington DC proved.
Currently on their Southern Equality Tour, they used their voices to drown out hate at last weekend’s Knox Pride in Tennessee.
The homophobic protestors attended the event to wave homophobic banners saying ‘Homo Sex Is Sin’ and ‘Jesus Can Save You And Set You Free From Your Sin’.
But as they screamed hate to the gathered crowds, the choir began to sing.
Performing ‘We Shall Overcome’, they overcame and drowned out the hatred.
